forced perspective

in order to make these photos come out as they did, i used forced perspective while taking these photos. i also used photoshop in order to edit them using contrast filters as well as gradient maps.

color edits

in these pictures, i used photoshop in order to edit them to make the colors pop and give them different color combinations.

mood with color

this photo makes me feel calm. the cool colors in this photo make this mood really apparent.

gradient maps

for these photos, I used photoshop to combine two different photos into one. I used gradient maps as well as blending tools to give them the effect which they have.

In these images, I used gradient maps as well as posterization in a few to make this effect on the photos. I also changed the opacity and intensity of the layer masks.

I adjusted the curves in order to make this effect on my photo.

I edited these three photos to give them a vintage feel. I gave these pictures a softer feel by lowering the saturation and adding a photo filter to them.

I added a high contrast filter and edited these two pictures which go together to make them have a higher contrast in order for the colors to pop.

text and image

for this image, i used photoshop as well as illustrator to create an image which was edited as well as having the text element added to it. in photoshop, i sharpened the photo as well as cropped and edited it. in illustrator, i used the text tool in order to put a quote onto my image.

pictorialism

for this image, i used filters and grain to create the look that i did on the image. i also put a vignette on the image to give it more character.

vintage color

for this image, my goal was to make the picture look vintage. i used hue and saturation to kind of wash out some of the colors as well as give it more of a yellow undertone. i also used photo filters to give it the vintage look.

high contrast

for this image, i used curves as well as hue and saturation to make all the colors really pop. in this image, i chose to make it have a very high contrast and make the brights and darks really stand out against eachother.

sharpen

I took this picture of the beast and sharpened it using adobe photoshop. I used high pass to make the flowers look more detailed.

Portraits

In this assignment we took portrait pictures using artificial and natural lighting. In this photo, I used artificial lighting. The specific lighting used is 3/4th's lighting to light her face. I also used editing to make the colors brighter.

White Balance

In this assignment we used the white balance and changed it until we got a photo with the correct whites and colors in the picutre. In this photo I used the tungsten feature to get the best whites I could out of the picture. Also, I used photoshop in order to edit the picture to adjust the contrast and lighting. I also used the vignette affect in order to put the black shading around the edges and corners.

A Day in my Life

In this collage, I put together five pictures which represented different parts of a day in my life. I edited each picture using photoshop adjusting the contrast and lighting in the images. After editing all the pictures I put them together into a collage.

Artist Statement

I create art because it it fun and is a way to express how you feel. To me, art means something which is left to interpretation and something which you create. Art has a different meaning to everyone depending on how one interprets it. Art is something which no one can judge and can be represented in so many ways. Dance in something which inspires me and this is expressed through my work with photos of it and how I express myself through dance. Another thing which inspires me is the outdoors, this inspires me because there are so many different aspects to it. This is expressed through the photos I take. So far, I have been in photo 1 and 2 and I created many different photos in this class. During this semester I would like to make more photos which I really like because I feel like taking pictures with a digital camera is more fun than taking them with a non-digital camera. I would also like to make more pictures of subjects which I like with more freedom than in photo 1and 2.

A photographer which inspires me is Mario Testino. He is a fashion photographer for Vogue magazine and photographed Princess Diana before she died. The artists photos are about fashion and making the subject look their best. He has photographed for Vogue magazine all over the world with exhibitions of his art in London as well as receiving many awards for his work. He uses photo shop techniques within his photos to make the photo look the best it possibly can. He also uses photo shop for it to look flawless when it goes into print for the magazine. I really like the artist's choices of materials and artistic process. I really like how all of his photos are taken of high end fashion and covers for Vogue. Mario Testino moved from Lima, Peru and has become one of the world's most well-known and celebrated fashion photographers.
